Testimonials:
Parent of a Teen Client:
We are parents of a now 15 year old daughter who spent several months in art therapy work with Marie Lang when our daughter was was 11-12 years old. In summary, it was time well-spent and we would do it again knowing what we know of the process and the results today. Our daughter was able to better communicate many emotions she was internalizing, through not only drawing and art, but then verbally over time. We feel that she received tools from Ms. Lang that she uses today and will continue to use into the future to solid effect.
Specifically, our daughter worked with Ms. Lang to put images and art to use in both identifying and then discussing deep personal issues related to her international adoption, grief from the loss of her first adoptive mother at a young age and subsequent acceptance of a new mother. Ms. Lang's ability to draw out our daughter's remembrances and feelings through art were just fantastic. She was able to delve deeper into thorny issues, while making our daughter feel safe and listened to. As a result, we were able to both see and hear things from our daughter for the first time.
Again, the tools that Ms. Lang was able to provide to our daughter and our family will be used into the future for good in our lives.
