Grief and loss
Art Therapy helps to get the " real" feelings out, and honor them. Anger and rage are replaced with expressions for fear, sadness and hurt. As pictures are discussed with a supportive art therapist, a sense of relief replaces painful feelings of isolation, feeling stuck or overwhelmed. In this process, one begins to name their feelings and identify what they need. Many life changes are about loss and grief, not just when one looses a loved one. Though, that is especially painful. Divorce, moving, loss of identity, job or even accepting a difficult diagnosis, are all situations where grief and loss need to be worked out. Marie Lang is especially suited to help you or your child work though grief, she facilitated a grief group for children who lost parent, with the Ohio State James Cancer Hospital, for over 10 years and has worked though the painful loss of her first son. In addition Marie and her husband have helped many people deal with loss through a faith based group called griefshare.
